Dr. Bin He, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, conducted an experiment in which remote controlled robots were piloted through human EEG. When participants in the study imagined different motor movements their EEG pattern directed the movements of the robots. Dr. He envisions that this technology will someday be used by people with disabilities to regain functioning by using EEG to control artificial limbs and other devices.
