PTSD may be as mis-diagnosed as many other psychiatric conditions, and objective testing is not the rule in psychiatry for diagnosis or for selecting treatment option.

More recently the use of EEG/qEEG in evalluatibng post traumatic stress cases has added some objectivity to the evaluation, and it also helps direct the PTSD clients to an appropriate treatment match.
